HealthMC is using advanced AI, including large language models (LLMs), to transform healthcare operations—starting with medical coding for risk adjustment. Our technology helps health plans and risk-bearing providers capture the full complexity of their patient populations with greater accuracy and efficiency, while reducing administrative burden. We’re hiring an AI Research Scientist to partner closely with our Chief Science Officer on rapid AI prototyping and experimentation. We are doing novel work with LLMs with immediate real world application in healthcare. If you’re a hands-on builder who is a self starter, loves exploring new ideas and enjoys working independently—this role is for you.

What you’ll do:

• Test and iterate on AI research ideas, develop new modeling strategies, and generate insights to improve our real world performance, in collaboration with our CSO

• Write Python and SQL scripts with Jupyter/Hex notebooks to run and evaluate experiments, evaluate model candidates, and analyze real world performance

• Work independently and move fast
  
  

What we’re looking for:

• Experience in research and/or lab environments with a strong track record of developing valuable and interesting insights

• Intense curiosity coupled with a hunger to do interesting things

• A proven ability to self start and execute at a high level

• Strong Python and SQL skills with comfort in notebooks and lightweight dev environments
